Barbara B, from Pleasant Hill, California, has been an active member of ACA since returning in 2009, having previously participated in the mid-eighties. They co-founded the San Francisco East Bay Area Intergroup in 2017 and have held significant service positions, including an ABC delegate and chair of the health and safety and service advisory group. Their talk tonight shares their personal experience growing up in a large Irish Catholic family with an alcoholic father and a mother suffering from Lupus, highlighting their path to self-love, emotional healing, and the importance of service within the program.
