From Self-Will to Surrender and to God - Chuck C

Chuck C speaks about how years of self-will left him in failure, while sobriety became a gift from God. He describes reaching AA only when no other choice remained, discovering that God had always been there. Once bitter and alienated, he now speaks of grace, humility, and relationship with god he found through AA.

Some Ideas:

  • I had 43 years to run my life and I failed at every department in my life. I take credit of that. I have been able to live now for something over 7125 days without having taking a drink or tranqualizing of any kind and I cannot take credit for that. That is god as I understand him.
  • All we have to do is to come back home and find out god was always there.
  • I could not come to alcohoilic anonymous until I had a choice. As long as I had choice, my choice was never to come to AA
  • Long before this time, I have already decided that human race was great cosmic mistake. I didn't like good people and drunks I hated.
