Bill B, an adult child and alcoholic from a chaotic family of twelve, found healing through ACA, having been introduced to it eleven years ago in California. They describe a childhood of terrifying confusion, marked by a mother's violent rage and an early experience of betrayal, leading to a deep distrust of the world, and they eventually realized alcohol was a "treatment" for their underlying issues. Through consistent step work, therapy, and dedicated sponsorship, Bill B has found sobriety, developed internal and external boundaries, and learned to embody kindness, deeply valuing the gift of service to others in recovery.
